Written and Photographed by: Jess DeMinto Sophie Allison, aka Soccer Mommy, head of an indie alternative band killed it, opening for Phoebe Bridgers, with her moody melodies this Valentine’s Day. The local Nashville Musician keeps us wanting more. Nashville seemingly cannot get enough of both Soccer Mommy and Phoebe Bridgers, considering they had to shift from a smaller bar / venue to a much larger venue fitting a few hundred more people, selling out both the primary as well as the second venue. Phoebe Bridgers, performed at Cannery Ballroom where she hashed out her stories of heartbreak through her moving love songs. Gal-pals, couples and those who just love Phoebe’s music alike, all came together that rainy evening to cry together. On a day that celebrates love, the audience swayed in that heartbreak and listened intently to phoebe’s anecdotes explaining her songs, her passions and her history. The band collectively moved the crowd as well as special guests including her lawyer “who shreds” and another Tennessee local musician, Julien Baker. Phoebe praised her friends and humbly recognized them throughout her set. She also took the time to pose under her handmade sign with all her fans afterwards. The crowd was showered with confetti setting the mood for a magical night. Phoebe was nothing but poetic, lovely, and appreciative of those around her. If you ever get the chance to watch her sing her heart out, go, Phoebe really puts a lot into her stage presence, and her music is definatley worth seeing live!
